Swing Flex towbar-mounted bike rack swivelling arm

The SWING FLEX pivoting arm is the Mecatek solution for transporting your bikes on the rear of a panel van or compact campervan without giving up access to the vehicle. This system consists of a pivoting arm equipped with a tow ball onto which a detachable bicycle carrier is attached (not supplied). The arm is installed on the existing tow bar and opens to 155°: your bikes move away from the van and the rear doors open fully.

Once the arm is swung open, the bikes are moved a good distance away from the van. You can leave the doors open, access your cargo and set up your awning or tailgate tent without restriction.

The key features of the SWING FLEX pivoting arm

• Easy opening: An extended handle makes opening easier. You no longer need to squeeze between the bikes and the vehicle, as the handle remains accessible at all times.
• Height adjustable: A dial allows the height of the arm to be adjusted according to the load being carried. The arm thus easily clicks into the fastener.
• Homologation complied with: towbar approval is complied with. The SWING FLEX ball is in exactly the same place as the original towbar ball, and the rear doors open without the risk of hitting the ball.
• Clear access: The passageway remains unobstructed. Mounted set-back from the bumper, the SWING FLEX leaves no bar to hinder access to the boot when the arm is open.
• Bike rack compatibility: The integrated tow ball is designed to accommodate the vast majority of removable bike racks on the market.
• Towing function (type approval pending): An extra pin, fitted when towing, will allow a trailer to be hitched to the SWING FLEX.

A clever system that stays open without a latch
The pivoting arm mechanism lowers the cycle carrier as it is opened. This movement shifts the centre of gravity and keeps the SWING-FLEX in the open position. No additional locking device is required to prevent it from closing again!
