Why use mechanical jacks for motorhomes?

Our mechanical jacks for motor homes are designed to stabilise your recreational vehicle in all circumstances, whatever the surface your motorhome is standing on (lawn, asphalt, gravel, etc.). They also guarantee maximum stability even on slight inclines. So you can limit the body movements of your motorhome, even if you stop on a slope.

As well as improving the stability of your motorhome on all types of terrain, the jacks make it easier to change a wheel in the event of a puncture, and to fit chains when it snows.

Two systems of mechanical jacks for motorhomes are available in our range:

Simple to use, the MOCA mechanical jacks offer excellent value for money. They are supplied with a crank handle for optimum use in all circumstances. MOCA mechanical jacks can also be fitted to the motorhome's front axle. They differ from standard jacks in that their adjustable articulated shaft makes them much easier to use.

Made from resin, the LIGHT XT mechanical jacks are as light as they are strong. They guarantee optimum stability for your motorhome.

 

How do you fit mechanical jacks to your motorhome?

The mechanical jacks are easier to install than hydraulic jacks on a motor home. Installation is manual and there are far fewer adjustments to be made, as the mechanical jack system has none of the electro-hydraulic components of hydraulic jacks. There is no control panel to complete the installation of the mechanical stabiliser jacks. They are easily raised and lowered by a simple crank handle.

The mechanical jacks attach directly to the underside of the motorhome, on the rear of the chassis. Once fitted, a half-turn of the crank is all that's needed to move the jacks into a stable position. When raised, the mechanical jacks lock automatically. They also have a free-pivoting mechanism, allowing them to fold forwards or backwards if you forget to reassemble them on the way out.
